A wonderfully elegant Provence Rose wine
###
Product Description
Domaines Ott remains family run albeit with support from the fabulous Champagne House, Louis Roederer. It was Marcel Ott who set up the business in 1896. A trained oenologist Marcel purchased vineyards in Provence after phylloxera had practically wiped out vineyards, ruining wine creation and adding considerably to his risk. That the estate remains today is testimony not only to the quality of their wines, but the tenacity that runs through his family’s generations.
Tasting Notes
Chateau Romassan is the Ott family’s ‘youngest’ estate being purchased in 1956. The land itself is of course not young and in fact took muck work and reorganising to raise the standards to the level they have reached today. The wine is truly elegant with touches of citrus, pink grapefruit and fruit. It will almost certainly make you even keener to visit Provence.
